Active Aero in F1: What It Is and How It Works

Active aero refers to aerodynamic parts on a Formula 1 car that can physically move or adjust while the car is in motion. Unlike fixed wings, these components change their angle or shape to alter how much downforce or drag the car produces. The most well-known example is the Drag Reduction System (DRS), which opens the rear wing on straights. Active aero helps drivers go faster in different parts of a circuit.
