A green sector on the timing screens means that a driver has set their personal best time through that section of the circuit on this lap. It is shown on the live timing graphics as a green highlight next to the driver’s name and sector time. Green does not mean it is the fastest time of anyone in the session — it simply means it is the best that particular driver has achieved so far. Green sectors are a useful indicator that a driver is improving their lap.
Example: Sainz has gone green in sector one and sector two — he could be on for a very strong qualifying lap.
A green sector is the driver’s personal best — not the overall fastest. A purple sector means the fastest of any driver in the entire session.
